About Us

Nottingham City Splat CIC is a Community Interest Company run by and for people with learning disabilities.

Splat stands for SPeak, Listen, Act, Together.

We meet monthly and support people with learning disabilities and family carers to have their voices heard and speak out about the important things in their life.

We are a small not for profit organisation with a very small budget. Our only income is through donations, small payments for work we do and raising money from events.

Our work to date has included:

– giving our views and ideas on the development of a new  App, which will support people to live more independently
– giving feedback on the Government’s new training plan for health and social care staff
– helping NHS England develop their 10 Year plan

We currently have about 40 members, who meet monthly. Our meetings are a mix of listening to speakers, sharing our ideas, group work, making videos, presentations and reports.

We have spoken at conferences, been co-trainers for health staff and have been asked to support the local Council in a number of consultation events.
